Did you go? How was it?
The lecture was very interesting and fun, typical Eno.It didnt surprise me that the main subject centered on "Generative" systems. Eno uses them in music, Wright is using them in game design (The latest Maxi offering "Spore" was shown..It looks pretty damn cool). The idea (which is pretty simple yet can yeild vastly complex output with the simplest of changes) is best explained by a wind chime. A wind chime has predetermined notes (each chime is tuned per it's length, thickness, material etc) yet is "played" by the wind. Changing the note values changes the sounds the chime generates. Eno discusses this top far more succinctly in his book "A Diary" . A great read!
It was (and always is) very entertaining hearing people who think a great deal discussing their ideas in a public forum.
Admittedly, Im an Eno fan boy, and he does no (or very little wrong) in my book. I even purchased his latest CD for a whopping 25 bucks, but that's OK because it's going to the Longnow Foundation and I like what they stand for.
