Meaningless Garbage

Me and Craig and Brain went and saw "The Departed" last night. Ripping film. Maybe a tad muddled but well worth it. Fuck, when did movies hit 10 bucks? Maybe I need to get out more? We were awestruck by the reaffirmation that Hollywood is nothing but a bottom feeding, regurgitating cluster fuck after watching the nauseating trailers/commercials that play before the film. As obsessed as we are about entertainment, one would think we'd like our films to be a "little" better. Wait, Bush is in office isn't he?

MBO is still working on Nerve Pill and are also playing around with a new tune. Slowly onward. Im still trying to figure out where I can get a MIDI controller that easily changes instruments in Reason via Rewire in Live. If any of the 5 people that read this blog have any ideas post em here. My ideal controller will also have a screen that shows the actual name of the instrument Im selecting in Reason. I dont know why these companies are so fucking inept when it comes to MIDI UI design. Honestly it doesn't have to be this hard does it? Don't answer that.

We are looking for gigs. Nothing yet. Hopefully something will happen in Nov.

I'm also freaking pissed that Apple wait all of two months before announcing the new Duel Core Macbooks, making my machine outdated after owning for a mere month. Fucking sucks. When does technology need to be pushed and when does it need to be held back in the name of consumer satisfaction? All I can say is fuck them. Apple are such secret fags about everything it's starting to wear me out. But hey, the machine still is ripping and kicks ass playing Warcraft. (Yogsoghoth, Meridian, say hey)

Sure Madonna is a useless pile of human garbage, but at least she's trying to do something nice for a little kid. People that complain that she unfairly bucked the system have no idea (NO idea) how retarded the system can be, and if it means a kid who was as close to fucked as one can be gets to live happily, then fuck it. It's not like she got to move to the front of the line for a kidney transplant or anything.

Warcraft: The Life Suck

I keep reading how Warcraft ruins people, marriages, jobs etc. Personally Im not buying it. My guess is if these people were not playing Warcraft they would be doing something else that is just as ridiculous (perhaps watching Nip Tuck). The fantasy of a life that is in endless persuit of learning new things, improving yourself, using your time wisely is just that, a fantasy. Most of us would rather just relax infront of the tube or have fun killing virtual shit after work. I see no social decline in pastimes. Face it, anything done to excess will ruin you. From beating off to blow. To blame a game for a life wasted is like blaming the fabric that the Columbine black trench coats were made out of for the high school shootings. Scapegoats are convenient if anything.

Here's a classic Warcraft related post(Link) about why this person has been lax in updating a blog.

Secrets Remain Secrets

From Edward Gomez at sfgate.com

George W. Bush got what he wanted, ostensibly as a tool in his unfocused "war on terror": By signing into law the Military Commissions Act of 2006, Bush has made it legal for the C.I.A. to continue operating torture facilities in undisclosed, foreign countries, and for the writ of habeas corpus to be suspended for individuals who are designated "enemy combatants" against the U.S. (Designated by whom? That question remains unanswered.) The law also "establishes military tribunals that would allow some use of evidence obtained by coercion [that is, torture], but would give defendants access to classified evidence being used to convict them."

The real questions remain: "Do any of us realy care"? And the mind bending killer "Why dont we care?"

Why I haven't seen this remarkably cool music gear web site from the UK is anyones guess. I find most of the posts very fascinating. Total gear-head geek out.

Why Are You Reading This?

Another rehearsal under the belt. Gave the new Macbook Pro a spin and it preformed mightily. Im looking forward to trying out Reason via Rewire in Live 6 and hopefully watching the latency issues slip away like a memory of food poisoning of the past.

We are sounding pretty good now! I told Craig that as soon as we are bored to death of playing these songs, THEN we will be ready to play live.

Tried Spaceman again and it seems kinda boring, but Im sure we will give it another go on Saturday. Somewhere an arrangement exists for this song! Nerve Pill is slowly being sculpted, with Craig taking much of the song on his shoulders. I cant even remember how many different basses/amps we used on the album to get the tones we wanted.

Birthday. Closer to death. Good times.

Polishing The Silverware On The Titanic

Rehearsals went well last Sat. It looks like we resurrected "Spaceman" from the smoldering ashes as the song now it back in our set. This is thanks to Craig who asked to try it again. Personally I find every song I write disposable. I am the abusive drunken dad with my songs. "Your not behaving? Well into the fucking closet for you!" Admittedly some good kids never see the light of day. I say fuck the good for nothing little rat bastards.

Spaceman now has a rather interesting dub/textural feel and builds to a huge pumping wash. We all like! We were also smoking stuff, so who knows if our critical engines were clogged with hunks of self love, but it seems worthy enough.

Also my new Powermac Pro should be arriving any day now. As any Mac freak will tell you, the best part of buying a Mac is opening the new box and drooling over the packaging design porn. Im pretty sure Im going to have to buy the Universal version of "Call of Duty 2" as soon as I get the new machine. Someone has to kill the Nazis!
