Alice Scheduled To Be Sodomized
One of my all time favorite books is "Alice In Wonderland". It was one of the first things I remember reading (that and the lyrics to Sgt Pepper) and absolutly loving. Now I hear that Tim Burton is working on a screen adaptation. This saddens my poor heart. Of course this is the man who created the seminal classic "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" and he did "Ed Wood" as well, both amazing films, but he also unleashed the vomit inducing "Willy Wonka" AND "Planet of the Apes"on the world. Danny Elfman should pay some stiff fines for those Wonka tunes. Grumble..why wont Tim Burton leave my childhood alone?

That Planet Of The ApeBurton
sure did suck.
Speaking of destroying childhood memories ... I just finished watching SciFi Channel's Tin Man last night and it was horrid. There's 6 hours of my life I'll never get back.
Wow..bad huh?
OK..I'll ignore.
Seems to me a movie you should let pass to preserve you sanity.
Some big names have also tried (and failed) to film "Don Quixote, the night with the sad appearance". Maybe Alice in Wonderland is equally resistant. (also to sodomizing;-)
i think danny elfman has been writing the same piece of crap music over & over for the last 20 some years.
hate his stuff.....
will johnny depp play alice?
Yes. I hate his stuff as well. Fuck that shit!
There, we said it.
Yeah..I'm sure Depp will play Alice or at least the Mad Hatter, and everyone will be impressed by how good he is.
But he's never that good, And I'll hate it even more.
Fuckers
I kinda liked Planet of the Apes... I dunno maybe I was just stoned.
Wonka was another story... I actually liked Depp but the music was terrible and the general tone was way off the mark.
Alice could be cool though. It's not like there's a definitive cinematic version to tarnish. It's gotta be better than the Disney version right?
No doubt I will be wishing Terry Gilliam could have directed though. If he had the kind of $ that Burton commands he could really blow some minds.
