As far as I can tell this book will be a Godsend to all of us Beatle recording fetishists. While the 1980's "The Complete Beatle Recording Sessions" is a true must have, and does touch on many of the recording techniques used in the Beatle sessions, THIS book is the answer for all of us who while looking a picture of Ringo playing drums relatively ignore Ringo and look at the beautiful mics and how they are placed.
Nothing is better than when gear goes apeshit on you. Any musician worth his salt knows the delightful sound a Boss Flanger makes as the battery is in the grips of a death moan. Here's a wonderful video of a Indian Tabala Machine (I almost bought one in Panjim India but my friggin card wasn't working) that's going to space.
The MBO freaks (and Brain and Ler) will be making our way down to the NAMM show this weekend to celebrate all that is retarded in the music biz. Past highlights include throwing meatballs at unsuspecting reps, fake fights involving fire, Gene Simmons sightings and engaging guys who dont see the sun ever in meaningless conversations about gear that no one will buy. I DO plan on forcing a M-Audio freak into showing me exactly HOW one changes instrument patches in Reason using the Ozonic controller. MIDI still sucks pole.
