The Sad Fate Of The House Of Satan
I had the opportunity/luck to visit Anton LaVeys home in the 1980's. It was a unbelievable home, filled with mystery and beauty. Sadly it went the way of cheesy city condo grabs and was bulldozed in 2002.Link

On a slightly amusing note, I own the mailbox from this house.
I went by there one day with the intent on grabbing a souvenir before it was torn down (it was already uninhabited). Me and a friend spent about 10 minutes and pried off the huge black mailbox that was attached to the inside of the fence. I still have it to this day, replete with 2 pieces of junk mail addressed to LaVey's wife, Blanche Barton. Coincidentally, one of the pieces of junk mail was for a dance recital at the cannery and bears the cannery's logo on the front, the giant pentagram, and the other is one of those "have you seen me" mailers about missing children.
As i drove away on my scooter with said stolen mailbox i kept imagining a chorus to some as yet unwritten song about that little adventure that went "riding with the devil's mailbox, yeah yeah!"...
