Recording Diary v31
Today we spent some time arranging a new song called "Oh The Aphids". It's about how Aphids are the gatekeepers to a diabolical Occult dawn. They also eat roses. After placing an synthetic Eno-type beat into Pro Tools (via Reason) we placed Jeff's drums in and built the arrangement. The next step was to place simple piano fundamental chords to use as pitch references for singing.
Then we sang. The next 5 hours were spent singing. Craig and I worked on various harmonies, and doubled them etc. The end result is "thick". I am going for a Eno vocal texture ala "Here Come The Warm Jets". Chances are it will sound nothing like that.
Next step is to start the instrumental layering.
Then we went home. Sometimes I leave the Thelosophy Center feeling like I just played a football game.

I am very interested in how this comes out.
Those 70's Eno albums have been my favorites for a long time yet I still like to only listen to the vinyl or tapes.
I'm sure you will come up with some cool analog sounds to put into pro tools and dazzle us with these new songs.
I am happy to know that yet another amazing inspiration is present in your art.
Those Eno albums are some of my all time faves. Definably up there with the Beatles for me. My desert Island disks.
I could listen to "Green World" over and over again..I do actually.
