Recording Diary v49

More work on "Nothing".

We piled through the lead vocal and select harmonies in about an hour or so. After doubling the chorus we decided to use"ADT" (automatic double tracking) rather than singing the tracks. Lennon demanded that the Engineers (Geoff Emerick and Ken Townsend) develop this system because he was fucking sick of singing everything twice. I can relate.

After the vocals were in the bag Craig then finished placing the Crash cymbals on the track. The song is starting to shape up.

Then our pal Wobbly stooped by and we listened to a few songs. All of them rough and unmixed...His input is always very valuable..

Afterwards we started talking about Eno, which I supremely enjoy. All conversation eventually lead to Eno- It's a mathematical imperative. Wobbly mentioned that 1970's Eno collaborators Cluster are on tour soon! If your interested in 70's era Eno Ambient stuff you simply must check out Cluster. Cool stuff.

Wobbly will also be opening for Matmos on their west coast tour soon. I'll post the dates when we get em.
